Pine Street was the first place I stayed when I came to the United States, and for a long time, it was the place I kept returning to. After school, field trips, visits to unfamiliar parts of the city, this was where I came back at the end of the day. At first, everything felt unfamiliar, even the streets around me and the place I was living in. But through the repetition of leaving and returning, walking the same routes, and spending time there, the unfamiliar slowly became familiar. Over time, Pine Street became more than just a place to stay. It became my first point of reference, a place where time, memory, and experience gradually began to take root.
